Sports are a large part of life in Minnesota. All four major sports leagues have teams here. The University of Minnesota has a long, rich athletic history as well. People love to talk about (okay, complain about) the exploits of all their favorite teams here. There is some question as to why we all love our teams so much since they have given us a lot of heartache over the years. They do bring us all together though, and when they do come through with something great it makes all the tough times worthwhile.

Many major sporting events have been held here. The Major League Baseball All-Star Game was played in the Metrodome in 1985, having been previously in the area in 1965. The Twins brought the World Series to our state in 1965, 1987, and 1991. In the early 1990’s, we were almost the center of the sports world. The Twin Cities hosted the World Series, Super Bowl XXVI, the Stanley Cup Finals, an NCAA Basketball Final Four, and the U.S. Open in golf.

I have lived in Minnesota all my life. I have many memories, good and bad, about the sports events that I have witnessed. This site is a place for me to share my thoughts and relive those moments.
